We're welcoming over 40 new staff members to our Manhattan family this year! We had a great couple of days introducing them to MSD114 and our Manhattan community. Thanks so much to Agave Azul and The Creamery for helping us introduce some of our local favorites, too!
It was great to see so many junior high students today! There are two more days to stop in to move into your locker and check out our incredible new school.
Last night was another first at MJHS as we hosted our Summer Music Concert in the new building! All
groups performed in one show! Thanks to the almost 1,200 people that came out to support our talented musicians, led by Mrs. Pedziwater and Ms. Perkne! Great job, Demons!
We are still overwhelmed by the shared excitement, amazing attendance, and joyful experience of our MJHS Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Community Open House last month.
While a video recording of the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is also available, we hope you enjoy this highlight video, summarizing the excitement and intentions of the day in under three minutes!

The MJHS baseball and softball fields were dedicated in memory of former Manhattan 114 Board of Education member, Dan De Caprio today. Mr. De Caprio was a longtime Manhattan 114 resident and served on our Board of Education for 12 years. As a dedicated educator, coach, and sports fan, he was an unwavering champion of teachers, coaches, and athletics for our schools.
Last week, MJHS hosted the first Athletic Expectation Night of the year for our Cross Country, Softball, and Baseball teams. We wish all of our athletes and coaches good luck as their seasons begin this year! Go Demons! 💙👟🥎⚾️
MJHS Demons Athletics will be hosting a dedication ceremony for the MIS baseball and softball fields this Wednesday, August 14th, at 3:30 p.m. in honor of our long-time supporter and friend, Mr. Dan De Caprio. He was a champion for all teachers, coaches, students, and athletes and we look forward to honoring his memory. Afterward, the Demons baseball team will play their home opener against Bishop McNamara at 4:30 p.m. Please join us in honoring Mr. De Caprio and cheering on our Demons!

We were honored to welcome local politicians, leaders, Manhattan 114 retirees, representatives from other school districts, and members of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and community to our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. We joined with STR Partners and Pepper Construction to celebrate the completion of the MJHS building project and look ahead to the next chapter for the school district.
MJHS Grand Opening Day began with and event for our junior high staff and their families. As many reminded us throughout the day, while the walls and spaces are beautiful, the people inside the building make it so special. The staff enjoyed seeing their completed spaces and exploring the building with their families.
We were thrilled by the turnout for the MJHS Community Open House! Community members enjoyed refreshments, guided tours provided by staff and students, a display of our district's history, and captured the excitement of the day at the photo booth.
If you were able to visit MJHS, we'd love to hear your thoughts on our Community Feedback Form: https://forms.gle/QdToW8WLVTEAKSJdA
