Hello Manhattan Community,
My name is Dr. Ron Pacheco and it is an honor to serve as your Superintendent of Schools. I have over 33 years in public education and before being your Superintendent, I was the Principal at Manhattan Junior High School since 2003. Prior to serving as a principal and Superintendent, I began my career as a band director in Hobart, Indiana, later relocating to Illinois in 1992. I received a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in 1991, a Masters degree in Educational Supervision from Governors State in 2000, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2014.
As your superintendent, I promise to do my best to lead our school system with a growth mindset and prioritizing what is in the best interest of our students. My wife, Joyce, and I have resided in Manhattan since 2002 and adore our village. We have 2 adult children - Ronald III (MJHS C/O 2012) who is an actuary residing in Chicago, and Alena (MJHS C/O 2009), an administrator at the Madiera Girls Boarding School, in McClean, VA.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to better serve you.
