An important aspect of the MSD114 safety plans is the use of Standard Response Protocol. You'll see these posted around our buildings and will be able to reference them, should any protocols be used.

Our wrestling team competed against Hickory Creek Middle School last night in a thrilling meet. 8th grader, Natalia Calleros, got a pin during the second to last match, sending the gym into a frenzy and winning the dual! The Demons improved to 7-2 as a team in dual meets this year. Come out and support them this Saturday as they take on Gurrie Middle School at MIS! Go Demons!

Despite the winter weather and temperatures, phase 2 of our building project is moving right along!

Thank you to Jerry with DO ART PRODUCTIONS for dropping by THE MIS. Jerry's message encouraged kids to be creative; be happy; and use art and the imagination to inspire.

Today at THE MIS we had the Rock Paper Scissors Championship. Two weeks ago in PE classes, a champion and runner up were determined. All 32 competitors squared off today to determine who is the "best of the best."
Congrats to:

Our 6th-grader science classes worked as their own construction companies, working towards building Spaghetti Towers that would withstand an earthquake (using our shake table) and keeping the egg from falling off the top of the project! Great work, 6th-graders!

Our 7th-grade students have impressed with their designing, constructing, decorating, testing, and improving their thermal energy houses in science class!

8th-Grade Parents: check your email for information about entering a lottery if your son or daughter is interested in joining the trip to Springfield in April (limited spots available).

This week in reading, 3rd grade students read the story "Aero and Officer Mike." Today, Malice and Lizzy from Will County's K9 unit came to visit Anna McDonald. Thank you Deputy Kelley and Deputy Stortz for sharing all your expertise.

Last night the Demons traveled to Bradley Central MS to take on Bradley and Reed Custer. We went 2-0 in the dual meets with key wins coming from Caleigh Nicholson, Devin Cagwin, and Dylan Torres. Keep rolling Demons!

With the second half of the year comes a variety of testing for our students. The valuable information we are able to gather helps guide us to move forward to promote growth and learning for all of our MSD114 students!
