Manhattan Junior High would like to invite students and families to join us at our second annual Cycle Showcase on Wednesday, April 24th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Come see what all of our students have been busy creating in their Art, Computers, Spanish, and STEM classes all year! A big shout out and thank you to Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Marshall, Señora Smith, and Mrs. Duff for fostering creativity and leading our students in some extraordinary work!

A big thanks to our chaperones for making the 8th-grade trip to Washington D.C. possible! Thank you, parents, as well for entrusting your children with us! Day Four was all about Arlington and museums!

The incredible work of students from all of our Manhattan schools was included in the Lincoln-Way Art Works Festival this weekend. We are proud of the students and staff of our art and design departments!

More sights, smiles, and souvenirs on Day 3 of the 8th-Grade DC Trip, including Mount Vernon and many more monuments!

Day 2 in the nation's capital is in the books! Touring Washington D.C. is easier when you have the best students (and staff chaperones)!

Our preschool classes love spending time with Firefighter Jackie and her "Learn Not to Burn" lessons!

Day One of the Washington D.C. Trip for our 8th-grade students was highlighted by stops at Gettysburg as well as some of the monuments and memorials at night!

It was another wonderful night of fine arts for our Kindergarten students at Wilson Creek! Great job, Kindergarten!

The first half of our kindergarten students did a wonderful job performing and their first Fine Arts Night! Thanks to Mrs. Bloom, Mrs. Davis, and Mrs. Walsh for all of their hard work with our students, their art work, and their performance! Bravo, Kindergarten!

Manhattan 114 families, we need your help! Please take a moment to complete the Illinois 5Essentials survey for each of the schools that you have a child attending. We're at just over a 9% response rate and we do not receive a report of the results until we meet at least 20%. Thank you for your time and support!

Hats off to our 6th Grade Concert Band and the Symphonic Band for a solid performance at their I.G.S.M.A. Pep Rally Concert tonight! Best of luck to all of our music groups as they compete at State this weekend!

Happy Social Work Week! Thanks to our MSD114 school social workers for all that they do for our students, staff, and community! You are a vital part our our schools and we appreciate how caring and supportive you all are!

MJHS's Room 122 held their annual Food Drive this year in February. Students were asked to donate food, personal care products, or make monetary donations to support the local Manhattan Food Pantry. Between the donations and items purchased, the group donated a total of 300 items to the Manhattan Food Pantry!

Last week, MJHS students participated in their monthly house meetings. The asset of the month for February was Reflection, so students worked together to accomplish team building activities that required them to work together and reflect on their approaches. We're looking forward to our next successful house meeting coming in March! Go Demons!

Another fascinating STREAM project by our kids at THE MAC
