Dear Manhattan 114 Families,
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked with Lincoln-Way 210 Transportation to resolve the timing of our bus routes, particularly for Anna McDonald and Manhattan Intermediate, as they dismiss at the same time each day.
In order to improve the efficiency of the routes, two additional buses have been added to the fleet that will serve ALL FOUR of the Manhattan 114 schools. They are prepared to begin implementation of the new routes and additional buses on Tuesday, October 15th.
This change will require the attention of the parents of any K-8 child who rides the LW210 buses. While there are some routes that were untouched, MANY were affected by these changes.
Please take a moment to review your child’s transportation information on PowerSchool, using a web browser, not on the app:
1. Confirm that there is bus route information present for any time of the day that your child rides a LW210 bus.
2. Take note of the times listed for AM pick-up and PM drop-off. These time changes will not take place until Tuesday, October 15th.
3. Take note of the new code used to identify your child’s bus. (ex. JHBa, MISMp, AMGa, WCLp) Numbers will no longer be used to identify any of the buses that serve MSD114. Anna McDonald and Manhattan Intermediate students may have AM OR MIS.
- BUS CODE will include: 2-3 letters to identify the school, one letter (A-N) to identify the route, then lowercase “a” for arrival and lowercase “p” for dismissal
- K-3 students will continue to be tagged by bus LETTER only.
There should not be changes to your child’s physical stop location.
If upon review you find any inaccuracies, please report them HERE by 8 a.m. on FRIDAY 10/11/24.
As a reminder, our buses will run as they have been through Friday, October 11th. New routes and new pick-up and drop-off times will begin Tuesday, October 15th.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we adjust our transportation system. Similar to the beginning of the year, it may take a few days to iron out routes. We hope for smooth, efficient bus routes soon after the changes are in place.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ron Pacheco, Superintendent
