Manhattan School District 114 Announces Opening of New School with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Community Open House

Manhattan, Illinois - July 15, 2024

Manhattan School District 114 is thrilled to announce the opening of our newest facility, Manhattan Junior High School, with a Community Open House on July 30th, 2024. This milestone event marks an exciting chapter in our district's commitment to providing exceptional education and fostering community engagement.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will commence the events. By invitation, members of the Manhattan School District Board of Education, district administrators, local officials, and esteemed guests will be in attendance to celebrate this significant occasion.  The ceremony will be recorded and shared publicly in the days following the invitation-only event.

Following the ceremony, the Community Open House will include guided tours and take place from 2:30 to 5:00 PM.  The new building is located at 15414 W. Smith Road, Manhattan, IL. This event invites families, neighbors, and community members to explore the state-of-the-art facilities, meet faculty and staff, and learn more about the innovative educational programs and resources available in the new facility.

"Manhattan Junior High School will be one of the finest buildings in the area. While it is a beautiful facility, we are most excited for the positive impact every aspect of the school will have on our students, staff, and community, providing even more opportunities for educational growth, collaboration, and innovation.  The new Junior High will continue the educational excellence of Manhattan School District 114, where we succeed together," said Mr. Vince Perillo, Principal of Manhattan Junior High School.

The new school is the culmination of all things great in our community. This would not have been possible without the support and dedication of our amazing community; Manhattan is second to none. Superintendent, Dr. Ronald Pacheco commented, “This facility represents our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for our students and dedication to meeting the needs of our growing community.”
