Illinois Assessment Testing for Math is April 16, 17, and 18

Math testing will be on April 16, 17, and 18. Three 60 minute sessions. Students need pencils, scratch paper, and a 4 function calculator.

All tests begin at 8:35.  Please see attached testing schedule for April 16, 17, and 18.


Annual Giraffe Award

To support Manhattan Jr. High’s ASSET for the month of April 2019,  SERVICE TO OTHERS, we will be accepting nominations from students, staff, parents, and residents of Manhattan to recognize a MJH student that “sticks his/her neck out” by volunteering time to help others in their community/school.  Service must be able to be verified.  Please see attached nomination and information.

Science Club Tours Chicago Museum on April 11




Manhattan Junior High School was built in 1994 and currently has 430 students enrolled. Currently, there are 42 certified teachers plus support staff at the facility.  Students receive instruction in art, music, foreign language, computers, band, orchestra, and chorus in addition to core subject areas.  A wide range of extra curricular activities including sports, band, chorus, orchestra, drama, journalism, cheer-leading, and student council provides opportunities for enrichment.  Special student assistance is available through speech and language therapy, a psychologist, social worker, and LDR and SI staff.  Community volunteers assist the school.
